A few years back, Barnard Assistant Professor and New Georges affiliated director Alice Reagan asked us to be a part of a new initiative, New Plays at Barnard, that would bring downtown artists and the new-play experience to her students.  Our first outing, THE EGG-LAYERS by Lauren Feldman, premiered in March 2012, and it was AWESOME.  We thought we’d do it again, this time by commissioning a play from the ground up — and next spring Dipika Guha’s BLOWN YOUTH will premiere at Barnard under Alice’s direction.

Alice was recently asked to write about our partnership for the Artistic Innovation blog salon curated by playwright (and NG affiliated artist!) Caridad Svich for the 2013 TCG National Conference.  So here it is on TCG Circle!
