Slip into WATER / help us make the piece!
For over five years, Sheila Callaghan, Daniella Topol, and New Georges have been working on WATER, an immersive + interactive piece about our relationship to water as a culture. We’re beginning to build an adventurous experience for our audience at multi-media powerhouse 3LD Art & Technology Center in downtown NYC, where in June 2017 WATER will anchor WATER CITY, a month-long, two-pronged multi-disciplinary art event that confronts the global water crisis. We want to make you part of the spectacle!
Will you send us footage of yourself?
We are looking for personal videos of your experiences around water that may include but are not limited to the following:
- Playing in a sprinkler
- Sitting by a pool
- Washing a vegetable
- Brushing your teeth
We are eagerly building a water-world, and we want to include your intimate moments around this precious resource. Please be a part of the piece! The more people and types of interactions featured, the more dynamic, magical, and inclusive the experience will be.
Send us a clip of yourself or the people in your household experiencing or interacting with water that:
- Is thirty seconds or longer (but no more than two minutes for each clip)
- Has the permission of all participants to be included in a theatrical piece (if we include your clip, you will have the opportunity to sign a release to that effect)
- Is preferably shot from a stationary camera (on a tripod) — but if your delightful phone is what you got, and the impulse hits you, we’re happy to have it!!
The rest is up to your personal experience and creativity!
The deadline is Friday June 17th. You can send your video to firstname.lastname@example.org. If the file is too big, send an email and we’ll figure out a way to receive it on Dropbox. And if you would like to read more about this exciting project, please click here.
