The Room, New Georges’ indispensable workspace for women theater artists
(and their friends!), is located in
ART/New York’s Spaces at 520,
520 8th Ave between 36th & 37th streets
It’s approximately 20’ by 30’. What’s it got? 45 or so chairs, a full-size keyboard/ electric piano, two long tables, one square table, several cubes, a shelving unit (props and other belongings left on shelves must be clearly marked), a floor made out of Mondo Flooring (which requires blue painters’ tape) and nice big WINDOWS.
Unlike at some other spaces you might use, we’re not on premises all that often, so there are some tricks to using The Room. The first is that you’ll need to pick up a key at our office on W. 27th Street (during weekday hours when we’re there — please call first to make sure!); a $20 key deposit is required. Second, you don’t know who’s coming in after you – so please leave The Room as you’d like to enter it! With furniture returned to its assigned spot, floor swept neat and clean, garbage removed (the trash can is right outside the door). If The Room doesn’t meet those specs when you arrive, please let Sarah know.
Booking and rates: Sarah Cameron Sunde‘s the one and only keeper of the scheduling book! Call her at 646.336.8077 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
