And in case you haven’t heard… The Jam is New Georges’ “performance gym” for female playwrights and directors, founded in 2010 by Lucy Alibar, Jess Chayes and Portia Krieger and currently facilitated by Jess Chayes and Sarah Krohn!
Members of the group develop collaborative work through director-writer pairings. Last May, New Georges produced Jam on Toast, a giant festival of new works by women including three world premiere productions and ten workshops, all at Dixon Place. Past Jam shows include Spring Recital, Jam on Ice, and Cotillion, evenings of fully-produced short works — JAMBOREE extends that tradition!
